how to check out a potential guest in advance

I am newer to this and I have had great guests, but sometimes peoples photos are a little questionable, is there a way for me to check out a potential guest at inquiry vs waiting to check in? Thanks for any help

You can ask for a full name, which will allow some Googling, but a few open-ended questions should help get a feel for any problem areas - "could you tell me a little about yourself & who you're traveling with? What brings you to (my town)?"
