Hi thanks for the replies . I decided to cancel as I was in the 48 hours grace period. I contacted Airbnb explains why I was cancelling and to get full refund. .
When I first went to book I contacted host asking about damage deposit. She said no it's not necessary . Then as soon is I booked she then asked for my email to send me link to to my French chalet been site. At this point it says I need to log in to client area where I can pay deposit and recieve door codes. .
@Davi35 @Branka-and-Silvia0 @Ana1136 You know what's also really strange about this listing? When I clicked on the link, there was a pop-up on the bottom of the screen that said "This site uses cookies" asking you to agree. Never ever had that come up when looking at a listing before.
@Sarah977 I just clicked to check and got that too but if I remember correctly that has popped up a couple of times before too, I just haven't paid attention to be 100% sure. A property management company can ask for a deposit if they have more than 6 listings if I understood tge rules correctly but I believe it should be fully disclosed before booking and when I checked most of her properties she has only cleaning fee in additional fees. @Davi35 you can only cancel 3 times per year penalty free, after that the Airbnb fee will not be refundable.
