new to hosting

Hi there, we are new to hosing on Airbnb, we have been with other sites for over a year and we just received our first airbnb reservation. Our question:-is there any way to receive payout prior to the  guest checking in? It would seem to be potentially problematic if they only stay 3 nights and one of those nights is a Sunday, they could ruin your place and be gone before you receive your money and they could cancel the payment. we would appreciate any input or suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

@Kathy-And-Mike2  Be aware that new hosts have to wait up to 30 days (could be shorter) for the payment for their first reservation. After that, it should be as normal, 24 hours after the guest checks in.

One thing to watch out for- some hosts have reported not getting paid at all when guests have booked less than 24 hours of check-in. If there is something amisss with the guest's payment, they may arrive, stay and leave and then Airbnb informs you "Sorry, we were unable to collect payment for this reservation."

You can avoid this by requiring at least a day advance notice for bookings (set this in your "availability" settings. This might not work for some hosts whose bread and butter is same day bookings, such as those who may live close to an airport and get a lot of guests who need a place to layover for the night, or whose flights were cancelled, etc.
