I booked an Airbnb about a week and a half ago which was to start tonight. I'm a four states away from home. Although it shows up in my trips, I have never received any messages from host. The address does not exist. The host phone number is disconnected or not in service. I do not want this charged to my credit card. I believe this listing is a complete fraud. What do I do?
@John3001 All you can do is call AirBNB. The contact numbers are at the top of this forum or you can contact them via twitter. [I, personally, would call.]
Are you at the property trying to get in? In the city, only to discover that the address doesn't exist?
@John3001 Does the listing have past reviews? If so, perhaps the issue is more with the host's failure to communicate the relevant info than in a fraudulent listing.
Either way, you'll have to call Airbnb straight away; they will probably treat it as a Host Cancellation, in which case you would get some credit toward a replacement booking (though realistically, not many hosts accept last minute, same day requests.
