I just got the following reply from a guest, who required accommodation.
Please explain, what it means: 'authorise future payments..."
This is very inconvenient as we are losing guests that way.
this was the reply from the guest: "I just went to pay for our stay but was requested by Airbnb to authorise future payments which I do not agree to so sorry I will not be able to confirm my booking."
I suppose it is the way the airbnb payment system works. When you leave your credit card details, you will not have to do it again with future bookings on airbnb.
airbnb also needs to be able to collect if there are any claims from the damage deposit or other claims and also to deposit any refunds.
