"Network error"in inbox on IOS app

both my co-hosts have this "Network error" problem on iphone 5, they cannot get messages.

they have restarted their phones and set data on for airbnb

it is frustrating as we are busy and i'm overseas

please help

First of all 

delete the AirBnB app

them hard reset your phones 

go to App Store and download the app again

log-in to your profile 

be sure tu activate all notifications

sadly that didn't work. he can see the push notifications but the app itself will not display his messages.

Did anyone get a solution?  I have the same problem on an iPhone 7
