When I receive a text from a host or guest on my phone and I answer, a message pops up: "Unfortunately, we don't yet have support to receive SMS from your carrier. Please log onto airbnb.com and send your message again." Question: Why can I receive a text, but am unable to send one? This is important to me because we will be out of the country in April and will not have our desktop available.
The text you're getting is just a relay of what was sent on the Airbnb site, so you can't reply directly to it from your text app.
Are you able to download the Airbnb app on your phone? You can also consider "snoozing" your listing while out of the country, but that means you won't receive any new booking requests.
I find it unusual that this is not supported by Airbnb, but it IS by the competition. V...O supports responding to texts and it makes doing business a LOT easier.
