Dear Air BnB,
Our guests cancelled due to a change in their preferences with their child. Could you please unblock my calender? I don't seem to be able to do so.
Kind regards,
Sara Marlow
Did you get a message from AirBnb suggesting that the guest wanted to cancel? And did you click on a button that said 'OK with me' or something like that? You should only click on the button that says 'No problem with this reservation at my end, they are still welcome to stay if they want to.' If you 'agree' to cancel, AirBnb cancels it as if you cancel and your calendar remains blocked. You could call AirBnb and ask them to unblock it. Try that. Tell them the cancellation was not ever your idea.
If your Guest tells AirBnb
"My Host, he wants to cancel Me!"
AirBnb will email you.
They'll ask you if
This tale is true.
What should you do?
You should decline!
The reservation is quite fine!
Just tell them no.
If he wants out
Then he may go but there's no doubt
The Guest should have to pay the price.
You're quite the Host, but not THAT nice.
Hi @Sara-and-Kamal0,
I think you are confused as to who cancelled, just like @City-Limits-Ranch0 said in their post. Check on this, I think it's not unblocking because you cancelled for the guest.
Anyway, this is a forum for Airbnb hosts and guests, it is not monitored by Airbnb Help and therefore not a way to get their attention or support. Search for "Contact Airbnb"and you will find a post with helpful info!
Good luck,
Babs
It appears you were the one, in fact, that cancelled the reservation. You may have done it unknowingly in the manner described above, but there are penalties for host cancellations. You can read them here:

The host canceled this reservation 6 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This one?
