would low star affect search result

I recently get a super low score 1 star across almost all category because the guest think my place is dirty.

 

I suspect he broke my bed which is the real reason he wanted to leave.

I found out my bed was broken when I got back to home in the afternoon, the bed was bought in Jul this year, I mentioned that I might report it and after that things just got off the track, he gave me super low star (1 almost across all category) and he requested to return money but cancelled immediately.

He mentioned to me when he arrive that he think the place is dirty and want to leave I said sure. And he came back short time later saying he will live here not leave anymore but slept on the sofa I said sure ( I wasn’t there whole time). Until i come back in the afternoon same day, he informed me that the bed is broke, the middle leg fallen out and slats come off he said he might able to help me put it back. I was thinking it might not be his responsibility so I said yeah if you have time. I asked which part he think it’s dirty, I explained that garbage is not clean because there is no plastic bag anymore but everything else is cleaned and washed, he said there is hair on the floor.....there is some hair but not like easily visible...

He said he would come back and sleep but actually didn't and took my key and returned it back the second day.

If he doesn't want to stay in the place, I am totally ok and return him money, but he left low score and it seems it is affecting my place searching result now.

 

except give a feedback on the review, other things I can do to make my place more searchable and more people to book? 

 

also just want to confirm if low score affecting search result on the map? (I cannot see my place on map anymore but if I click some close places, my ad would pop up at the bottom), previously I can easily see my posting by just go to the map

@Mia185   You are new to his platform and have 2 reviews.  One review is negative which is the more immediate problem.  Low rating will affect your overall rating, but that is not determined until you have more reviews.  If you can, you should respond to the negative review in a short, professional way.  Do not accuse him of anything and be respectful.  Keep in mind, the response is for potential guests to read and judge how you deal with guests.

 

Meanwhile, you could add a bit more to the pictures including captions for the pictures.  Add more about how conveniently located for the traveler is your listing.  You might add that the guest will have the place to themselves while you are at work.  Look at your competition and see what is attractive.
