[Guide] How to request Airbnb to Add a category to your listing?

Adding some screenshots with descriptions about the request to Add a category process on Airbnb : 

1. On you dashboard's Listing editor, select Property type : 
    
               
2. On the Property type side of the screen, click Learn more at the end of the sentence and it will take you to a new page i.e the Airbnb Help Center page regarding Categories:  https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/3374.
   
   Click the "Elevate" link in step 1.                                                                                                                       
3. A new page will launch: https://elevate.translated.com/categories.  Sign in with your Airbnb credentials. It will display all of your listings. 
                                                                
4. Click the +Add a category button that's next to the listing's title, and a pop-up with a list of categories will overlay the Categories page. I did a search and didn't find any other categories than what's already listed.  
                                                                        
5. You may select up to five categories to request to be added to your listing, and your request will be reviewed by Airbnb.

We have asked 10 times to add Ski In / Out as a category.  There is a GONDOLA in our backyard and ski trails out the backdoor.   The categories team refuses to acknowledge that.    Our homes are the CLOSEST to the Ski LIFT!  AirBNB needs to fix Categories so you can actually communicate with the team and explain why.   Meanwhile we are finding homes 10+ miles (30 minutes) away from the ski area that say ski in / out.

@Debra300 How long did it take for them to make the changes? It's to bad they make it so hard to find it and that it does not have an Airbnb url, does make you a little nervous.

My request was approved and listings updated in about 2-3 days.  However, I think categories have lost their potential impact because they are no longer featured on the Airbnb site (the current focus is promoting Experiences and Services) and also categories are not a search filter option.  I am not surprised because when categories were introduced I said they piqued online curiosity about unique and high-end listings but the majority of guests wanted to do their own comparison of available listings to find the best fit for their criteria.

Hi Debra, 

The Elevate no longer works.  Apparently it has a bug.  This issue has adversely affected our visibility.  Any idea if the bug will actually be fixed?  It actually seems like it has changed to being solely for photos and host are no longer able to change their categories which is very disconcerting.

I did a simple Google search, and read that the Elevate tool is now used solely for booking photographers.  Also, the elevated categories feature was deprecated one year ago.
