Accuracy Rating

We just received some private feedback that our accuracy was not quite correct...

Your guest mentioned some issues that weren’t accurately reflected in your listing description: size of home. Additional comments: “Small bedrooms with only the one living area ”.

This is stated pretty clearly in our description as well as in the photos. In addition to this, when people first book, I always let them know in our initial messages that while the yard is big, our house is really quite small and whilst it is a great place to use as a base to explore, it's not somewhere where a family could spend all day every day inside. I don't want people to come and expect somewhere large, especially if it is a family with a couple of kids.

This guest acknowledged this comment in response saying that they were outdoors people and the afternoons might just be spent on the couch watching DVDs but other than that they would be out and about. So this comment from a guest has thrown me a bit, I don't know how I could have made it any more clear and so it is frustrating that this comment was made, albeit privately.

Will this affect our star rating?

Cheers.

Actually I just realised that they have given us 4s for a few things and it has dropped our rating. Tough feedback especially when we made a lot of accommodations for them and always responded to their messages and emails within the day (if not the hour).

I just got a ding on the Netflix not working, when I went over to fix it and couldn't they said oh no problem. I said I would attend to it in the morning which I did and yet they felt a need to mention it. They had some other problems about the parking and about the tv size, both of which were spelled out. You really cannot please some people. They even said they would be back for a month next year. I really do not care to host them in the future.

@Tamaryn0 This is going to happen when you host and there is nothing you can do about it.

Here is part of what I offer every guest that comes into our cottage.....

In addition to that they get a beer in the fridge, a full size boxed cake of Dove soup, serials, jams and spreads, full airconditioning, the use of a washing machine with power and softener at no charge. I don't charge a cleaning fee or set a security deposit and I charge $85 AU per night!

I have had two guests who gave me a 4 star for value and one guest who gave me a 3 star....Really!!!

What I am supposed to do here, give them the cottage for nothing before it becomes 5 star value.

Tamaryn there are a certain percentage of people out there you will come across who are just plain gooses....or is that geese!

I have had some who say they never give 5 stars....5 star is that ultimate that is not achieveable! They give 4 star for excellent, 3 star for good, 2 star for a pass, and 1 star for a fail....simple as that. Nothing will educate those people

I even copped this one who despite very accurate and detailed arrival instruction felt that the house and street number in a suburban street was insufficient and required a bit of a grizzle and an overall downgrading, even though everything else was perfect.....

Tamaryn, let it go, just concentrate on being a good host. Fortunately idiot guests like this are few and far between....I have still got a 5 star review rate of 94% with over 105 reviews under my belt and most of us users are not fools, we don't look at one review in isolation.

Guests reviews and comments like that are a bit like that soldier in the Anzac day March.....he is the only one in step!

Cheers......Rob
