Adding guests after making a reservation

Adding guests after making a reservation

I have a guest that has a reservation in August that she initially made for herself and one other person.  I accepted this reservation.

She has now informed me that it will be her and 2 other people.  The room is not particularly large and really intended for two people. I wouldn't have accepted the reservation if she had told me that three would be coming in the first place.

I would like her to cancel the reservation, and find an Airbnb that better suits a party of three, and she is unresponsive.  I don't want to cancel the reservation because I don't think that I should be dinged or charged for her reservation change that I wouldn't have accepted if it had been presented accurately in the first place.

Any tips on this?  Thanks!

Something similar happened to me. I called customer service and explained the situation. They happily found my guest more suitable housing. It should not be an issue. You did not do anything wrong. For future reference make sure your description clearly states that the maximum number in the room is 2 and no outside guests...no exceptions. That is what I do.

She can't ''inform you'' that she is bringing more guests. She can ask, and you can say no. My place sleeps 4, and that is that. A guest can't ''inform'' me that they are now going to be 7. Just say no, and tell her that she will find better accommodation elsewhere.
