I have a guest coming on this coming 31st of Jan, my cancellation policy is strict, now the guest is request to postpond their reservations date to nend of next month, what should I do? because it's about too short notice given, is there any compensation from the guest I should request?
You can ask the guest to cancel, @Choo2, according to your cancellation policy. If you only alter the reservation, there will be no refund for you.
Hi, thanks for the reply and suggestion 🙂
@Choo2The sceptic in me says the guest is not coming at all. By altering it to next month, he can now cancel and get at least half of the money back instead of nothing. Tell him it’s too close to the date and and you will not be able to fill the dates with someone else so he needs to cancel and rebook
As @Inna22 says, this is unfortunately a common tactic some guests use to dodge the host's cancellation policy.
The best thing to do is decline the alteration request.
