I received an email today, to be considered as a blurb from the Intelligent(?) Airbnb computer:
Then it comes up with the comparison "nearby" listings and guess what:
THESE ARE MY OTHER LISTINGS, ALSO IN MY ACCOUNT, EVEN IN THE SAME HOUSE !
At the end it says:
Was this email useful or not useful ?Clicking on "notuseful" brings up the pictured screen.I was happy there was an option
"This email doesn’t make sense"
@Emiel1 We know that the rules they apply throughout the platform aren't the smartest in the world - but this one at least made me smile!
lol. Love it.
@Emiel1 Hahaha. If they had a computer bot IQ test, Airbnb's would have to rank in the "just plain dumb" category.
When I got that email, it didn't have to do any other listings I have, as I only have one, but what they compare my listing to is absurd. I actually checked all 4 of the first boxes, I seem to recall and in the written comment box asked why they would compare my private room with private bath and full use of kitchen to a hostel room that sleeps 4, or a monster truck with an outdoor toilet.
I also get emails pushing Airbnb homes in Puerto Vallarta, which is 45 minutes away from me and where I go every week for shopping. Why would I be interested in booking a place where I live? Dumb and dumber.
I'm just surprised it's the first time you've received this email.
I also list several rooms in my home, and so regularly receive this kind of comparative pricing for my own listings....
Only I laugh to myself not out loud; and long assumed any host with a similar situation is bound to receive the same.
