I just found out from a neighbor that my last AirBnB guest was a group of 30-year-old men, and that they invited the 15-year-old girls next door over to party with them. Should I call the police?
@Gregory145Who made the complaint? The 15-year-olds, their parents, or just a random neighbour?
I would be very careful about taking this type of complaint to the police if you have no direct evidence that something took place.
@Gregory145If you trust this neighbor, then you might want to contact the online sex offender registry in the town where the guest is from (I am assuming the guest is gone), and see if his name appears on a sex offender registry. If it does, then you would want to contact police / sex offender registry there and let them know. If the neighbor did not call the local police on the guest, then you should not either, as they are the one with the complaint and you did not witness it.
I would report this to Airbnb, and give guest a thumbs down.
Do you even know who the guest actually was? all of them in the group? I get IDs so I would know, but I don't get the impression that most hosts verify ID.
even if you did know exactly who the primary guest was I'm not sure what any police department could do with that info. "I had people here, I only have one of their names, and my neighbor said they were inappropriate toward some neighborhood girls while they were here..."
But maybe they would consider it helpful. You could call and find out.
I'd probably be more concerned that I had systems in place to know if my guests were causing problems for my neighbors before I heard about it over the fence. Outdoor security cameras perhaps?
At a minimum, a review that says "my neighbors complained about how this group behaved while they were in my home" meets review guidelines and gives future hosts something to think about.
