Becoming a host

We are looking at becoming hosts.  Is there any information that shows data on demand for a specific area?

@Lisa843, I have found this service to be useful:

https://www.airdna.co/rentalizer

AirDNA as a whole makes a living from providing short-term rental research data.

They are fairly generous with free sample data, while letting you know there is even more detailed data you can pay for.

There is more analysis available beyond the Rentalizer. Just check the tabs/links at the top of their page.

Matt,

Thank you so much.  That is great information.

The best thing is to look at other hosts nearby. Are there many hosts, what do  they charge, are they fully booked or empty? Also consider why guests would stay in your area: general tourism, business trips, walking tours, a specific attraction nearby? I'm near a major airport so most of my guests just stay one night to catch a flight, with late check-ins and early departues, and I'm forever explaining about local buses - the airport is my USP so that's what I do. Happy hosting!
