I don't like to book too far into the future, and I try everything I can to manually block off dates. I'll block the entire month, and then as time goes on, AirBnB automatically unblocks them as they hit the 3 month window. It drives me crazy. I constantly have to review the calendar and reblock dates I've already set as blocked. Does anyone else have this problem, and does anyone know of a solution?
I only want people to book 2 months out so i can keep an eye on pricing and my own schedule and availability to host. So, this really annoys me because I am afraid I won't notice and then someone will book one of the dates AirBnB automatically unblocked and I'll have to cancel.
Any thoughts on this?
@Steven140 Luckily, there's an easy fix! You'll want to set your Booking Window to "Dates Unavailable by Default" - then you can control if/when you open dates.
Cool! Thank you.
I feel a little dense, but I can't find this option anywhere on the booking window...
@Steven140 You'll go to your Calendar, then in the upper right corner you'll see Availability Settings, pull that down then click Reservation Preferences and you'll be able to change the Booking Window there.
Thank you!
Can you make the dates in question prohibitively expensive so you don't have to block them continually, I've read of people setting prices by day for a year.
for example $1000 per night

What gives Airbnb the right to unblock dates on my calendar?
This is my private home and I should not be subject to their interference.
i blocked these dates for a reason, which is none of their business.
i have just had a booking on previously blocked dates and I have to deal with an irate guests or tell family, the 5 days they wanted for a wedding, are now only 3.
Airbnb should have to cancel my guests and make the apologies themselves.
i went through my calendar and they have cancelled all my blocked dates.
The same thing is happening to me. Time and time again.. Its getting to be a problem. Now iwant to speak with someone and it seems thats there is no way.
Did you solved your problem?
Yes - Cynthia and Chris replied earlier: "You'll want to set your Booking Window to "Dates Unavailable by Default". To do this, " go to your Calendar, then in the upper right corner you'll see Availability Settings, pull that down then click Reservation Preferences and you'll be able to change the Booking Window there."
