@Laura2273 Most of my guests stay for at least a week, some 10 days or 2 weeks. No, I don't enter their private bedroom/bath at all during their stay except for essential situations, like when I saw the guest had left the windows open and was out, so I went in to close them when it started raining. I texted her to let her know I'd done this, so she didn't come home to wet bed.
I leave a broom and dustpan in the space for the guests and there are cleaning products and a cleaning cloth and sponge under the sink, which I point out, telling them that I don't expect my guests to do any heavy cleaning, but that they might not walk to walk around on a sandy floor (I live in a beach town) in their bare feet or track it into bed.
I'll ask them after a week if they have any garbage in their room, so I can take it to the dump with the rest of my garbage (guests share my kitchen, so it's not like the garbage can in their room is full of food scraps), and offer clean towels and bedding after a week, but that's about it. Have had all 5* reviews for cleanliness and everything else.
However, if you get some indication that the guests are slobs (like they leave a mess in the kitchen if you share that with them, or traipse through the house in muddy shoes, or order pizza and take it to their room, you might want to say you need to go in and vacuum and do a quick cleaning at the one week mark, just so you can make sure the place isn't a pig sty, create some order, get rid of leftover pizza boxes, etc.
