Declining an auto reserve reservation

While I was trying to work with a guest being evacuated out of Florida due to the hurricane, and she has handicapped children, another guest auto reserved my listing.  I sent the second guest a message saying i cannot accomdate her and she was fine.  But how do I cancel the auto reserve reservation and leave the dates open so the first guest can reserve it once she gets her payout options updated on her airbnb account???

If I decline and use the reason code "My listing doesn’t fit the guest’s needs" will my dates stay open so the first guest can then book?

IMMEDIATELY call AirBnB! They are the only way (i think) that you can Host-Cancel w/o the dates staying blocked!

Regardless, it is good to tell AirBnB that you had this happen while trying to deal with someone evacuating Irma. They will then know it is an issue that can come up!

I just had to call Airbnb twice because a group that was supposed to b 4 showed up with an extra guest. I called to get another unit unblocked so they could reserve and then  they requested regular rate. I wanted to send special request for lower rate. they only way to do this was to decline there inquiry and send special request. Airbnb blocked my calendar because I selected I wanted to offer a different price. When I called they said it was blocked because they dont let hosts raise the price. There was no way to say I was offering a lower price and if I hadnt called the guests would have had one guest without a place to stay. 

You will be better off calling and telling CS what you are trying to accomplish. Good luck and thank you for being such a gnerous host.
