Discrepancies between mobile and desktop listing

Hello fellow hosts

I have just picked up a potential problem on our listing. On the desktop site it accurately states that there is a queen size bed but on the mobile app it states that it is a king size bed.  I tried to edit the mobile app but although there is a long list of potential beds to select from queen size is not one of them.

This could land me in trouble with a guest who books via the mobile app and rightly expects a king size bed.  Have any other hosts encountered this problem? Any advice on how to best overcome it?

@Daphne70  You have plenty of opportunity to write in BIG letters. Under the bedroom photos - you don't need 3 pics of bedroom - esp. 2 the same just a thought.

Write under photo a caption like this.

Enjoy your " QUEEN " sized bed for a wonderful nights sleep.  happy hosting....I would write about the size of the bed in your listing a few times. Early on write it - folks don't read much.

best to you, clara

@Daphne70 I found your thread after noticing the "update" to the listing photos where they look like terrible 1970's mini-prints with rounded edges. It does look rather 'Basic' and not user friendly having those descriptions @Clara116 mentions up to the right under the scrolling mini-images away from the images they relate to. Its very unlikely now that guests will even read those descriptions as they're in the wrong place. They don't ever read the full listing details so this is a major fault.

You will have no hope for descriptions being of benefit in the mobile app. They're non-existent! The details you add here for clarity have been totally discarded. No descriptions - what-so-ever.

The accompanying text to photographs is very important in the description of our listings and the information provided should be displayed. IMO it is negligent on behalf of Airbnb to not publish this information when even they ask for it as part of the upload process and it is such an important part of the listing transparency for guests.

Double tap on picture will give you picture with description.. at least on Android it does.

On iPhone a double tap provides a separate photo browser showing all photos, still without descriptions.

The viewing method provided for photos in the listing is just to swipe left/right. There are no descriptions there.

@Clara116 Thank you for your response. I have changed the caption on the bedroom photo but I still find it unbelievable that the "queen" option has disappeared from the mobile app completely as it is probably the most common size.  I also wonder what other discrepancies there might be between the desktop site and the app.  I am going to find the time to go through them side by side just to be sure.

@Daphne70, I've just looked up your property on my phone and it says 1 queen bed...

@Kath9  thanks for checking - it must be a geographical issue because my mobile app still states king size.  Thanks for the compliment too 🙂

@Daphne70 I think the Queen and King size on app or desktop depend on countries, he sounds bizarre but when I had listing in Europe he never shows Queen but Single/Double/King and some others part of the world he shows  Single/Double,/Queen/King. I may be wrong

@Marie82  I think you are right, just one more easily fixed IT issue. I will escalate it and hope for the best.
