I used to host international students who came to NZ to learn & improve their English skills & one group came from Alicante!!
Fondest & funniest memories of them was going on a day trip to a secret location, which now is not so secret, to spend time amongst nature, native birds & trees & have a picnic which always comprised New Zealand produced/ grown foods...
We had to walk through a paddock/ field of cows to get this special spot..
The day we went it was one of the windiest stormy days ever, I've realised & learnt we tend to have those winds at the same time most years & they always bring back treasured memories of that day.
Without a word of a lie our hair blew at right angles & it was near impossible to stand overlooking the ocean from the cliffs that had jetsam on it that had been swept onto it from the sea.
It was exhilarating!!
