Final Cleaning fee in cash

Hello! I had a reservation in my property in Mykonos, and on the listing I specifically state that a final cleaning fee of €50 will be required upon check out. Now after almost a week after check out the guest wants me to refund the €50. Is that appropriate since he accepted the offer and that was clearly stated?

Hi @Angela137,

On what grounds has the Guest's asked for the refund after paying it?

Asking for cash payments after a booking is completed is irregular behaviour to Airbnbers.  Why aren't you billing this up front as part of the booking?  What you've stated doesn't reflect publicly on your listing... I can see a cleaning fee already incorporated? Is this a change you've implemented? If so that's great.

Only thing I'd be wary of is them leaving a mixed review. Hope it works out.

Cheers,

Paul

Hi, Angela

In Tokyo, we put the cleaning fee into the total price.

The guests pay the cleaning fee when they book the room.

Many guests did not read the detailed information, especially such as "cleaning fee in cash"?

They did not read it carefully, which does not mean they accepted the offer.

Anyway, you need to charge the cleaning fee with the room fee, but you can not charge it in cash after the check-in.
