First time host just listed our room last night got a hit tonight. Seems odd though his name says Andrew on his profile then it says Angel. Says he lives in Nevada but from the hello paragraph says he lives about 10miles from us. He also wants me to call him aboutnpoasibly doing month to month. That's a red flag for me just because that's not what we want. And idk if that's even allowed per Airbnb rules any help if we should go ahead would be great
@Jessica451 Make sure you collect his data on arrival. It might not be the person from whose account it was booked. If you feel uncomfortable with him, you have the right to ask airbnb to deal with it because it is a third party booking.
As for guests who keep coming again, I have some positive experience with that, but it might be exception here.
Only do what you are comfortable with doing?
Right at the beginning of creating a listing it asks what you want to do. The options include to make as much money as you can and take things easy.
Now there is no problem with earning money for good service and there is no problem with having an easy time.
If you reflect on this you can decide what you should do.
If it feels like a scam then walk away. If you are interested in long term lets then communicate via airbnb messaging and decline the kind offer of a phone call.
Listen to your intuition and follow your gut ALWAYS. My policy is, I never host locals in my personal pad, I offer locals a place (listing) outside my personal belongings. And they do understand.

First and foremost, do not book off the Airbnb platform. Nor should you communicate off the platform. Any time you book or communicate off platform you may loose any protections you are afforded under Airbnb. Secondly, there are many red flags with this booking and I fear you may have been targeted by a scammer looking to take advantage of a rookie. I would suggest you report this user to Airbnb and let them sort out the discrepancies in the matter. I personally would immediate decline this booking. I know this is disappointing as you are likely to start accepting bookings but this reads nothing but scam and trouble. Please proceed with caution.
@Jessica451 if this is an instant book reservation and you don't feel comfortable with it, you can cancel the reservation without any penalty. I recommend to contact aibnb via twitter and explain your concerns.
