Guest removed form of payment so no payment on claim

We recently had a guest cause damage and stole some items.  Once we FINALLY got through the process of requesting $90 dollars for the damages (I do my own work so don't charge labor) I received a message stating, "Armando has sent you $90".

So we wait....and wait....

1 month later I ask where is the payment...

No answer.

So I call and receive this as a response: "It seems Armondo has removed his credit card information so we are unable to charge him".

Am I the only one that thinks that a security deposit needs to be an actual deposit?

I have many more bookings scheduled but I am seriously thinking of messaging them all and asking them to rebook through another service after I cancel all the trips.

I cannot get over the fact that there is no actual course of action in so many cases I read here.

@John-And-Jennifer1 the same would happend if he keept his credit card but without any money on it (my experience)

Yes , all hosts are unhappy with this Aibnb no-security deposit and with very exhausting and time consuming damage claims 😞  This is the downside of ABB if you ask me, everything else is ok
