Host Reviews

Just wondering if anyone else has been having probems as a host when it comes to reviews?

I have had three guests leave my airbnb and have not been able to leave a review for them so that they in turn can review me. Obviously as a result this means that my page is lacking in reviews. I have not recieved any messages telling me to leave a review, nor in my review dashboard does it have an option for me to review them.

Hope someone can help!

Yes Susan, I have been experiencing the same issues. I have referred to Airbnb but they still have not come back to me with a definitive answer.  The old system of emailing the guest and host at same time to post a review worked a treat and never failed. However, by accident I noted that the request for review now comes via an alert in the review element of the host account. I do not think this is satisfactory as could be missed if you are not particularly looking for it.  I have had so many problems and embarrassingly have had to message my guests in some instances to ask them if they have had a request.  I am still mift that I have not had a satisfactory answer from Airbnb. They are currently saying it is with their technical team as I should be getting an email - but it sure isnt happening!!

This sounds frustrating. I have not experienced this problem, but have had guests not leave reviews. After a few days, I posted them a note thanking them for their stay and asking them to consider posting a review. I go on to explain how helpful it would be for me and to hope that my asking doesn"t detract from their overall experience. I find this aspect of hosting awkward at best and so recently created a saved message to help when needed. Hope this helps and the Airbnb Tech staff solve this issue soon.

I had some trouble finding the review option when I'm using airbnb on my cell phone. I get alerts on my cell normally, but if I don't click on it and review the guest within a couple days, the alert disappears. So I like to go on my laptop to review the guest when I miss that window to do so on my cell. I hover my mouse over the House icon at the top, scroll down the list to 'Reviews,' and then I click on 'Reviews by You.'  A list of guest(s) I haven't reviewed yet will show up and the option to review them is there.  It also shows how many days you have left to review them.  I find that most guests won't leave a review unless you leave them a review first. 😕 

Not as a host but maybe from the guests sides.

I had four guests recently who sent me texts saying they would be writing great reviews as they had such a great time.  I wrote them reviews as all were great guests, but none of them have reciprocated and 14 days have passed. I was surprised as guests don't usually go out of their way to tell me and then do nothing.  So, maybe there is a glitch!
