Dear fellow hosts,
I am not sure what to expect, I am now having to cancel a number of guests due to a family bereavement, as such I am now in a very different financial situation and find myself having to move out of property entirely and move home to something I can afford. Is there any help for me, do I incure a penalty?
Clare
Contact AirBnB sounds like it may fall under Extenuating Circumstances, let them cancel.
Hi @Clare51
I am sorry to hear about a loss.
Wow the two houses you have to let look wonderful.
I think from your post you must move move out of your London house when guests come to stay?
I would suggest you give BNB a call and explain the situation to them. They will expect you to submit evidence of your recent bereavement in order for you to be considered for extenuating circumstances.
Difficult I know when you must have so much else on your mind.
Good luck.
Are you deactivating your listings? If so, you can cancel the future bookings and move on. There is typically a $50 fee per cancellation but thats about the most of it. You mentioned your financial situation has changed and Ive found AirBnB a great way to provide income in tough times. Why not rent out the flats monthly so they pay for themselves?
