Is the information in the home safety section public?

Is the information in the home safety section public?

Does anyone know if the information in the home safety section/card is public, or only available to guests once they have booked?

We have combination locks on the gate in the fence around our back yard. If someone had to flee the house via the back door in an emergency, they would need to unlock those locks to get out of the back yard and to the street. We generally try to leave them unlocked when we have guests, but in case we forget, it seems like a good thing to have in the safety info... unless every local curious person gets to see it.

I know that the information in your House Manual is only visible to confirmed guests and is ideal for this information. It is specified with this message at the top.

(photo of lock) This information is stored securely. Guests don’t see this until you confirm their reservation.

 

The Safety Section does not have any such designator so I would not presume that it is secured although you could always contact them to confirm.

Maybe I'm simply way too untrusting, yet far too many instances of hacked websites, hacked icloud accounts, and the like would make me extremely wary of entrusting extremely sensitive information onto such an online catalog. 

You can always send them an email with the combination after the fact or shortly before they are planned to arrive. Or even better, have them on a card on the wall beside or on the door to the back yard. That way they will see it if they need it.

Thanks Andrea. The idea of posting it by the door is great! That way it will be there in case of need for casual guests as well as renters. Appreciate your input!

i HAD SOMEONE ADD INFORMTION TO MY HOUSE MANUEL. BUT NOW I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DELETE IT.

I TRIED TO DELETE IT BY THE EDIT BUTTON AND IT APPEARS TO BE GONE, BUT THEN IT RETURNS. I DO NOT WANT MY GUEST TO RECIEVE THIS INFORMATION ONCE THEY BOOK. IT DOES NOT APPLY TO MY SITUATION. PLEASE  HELP.

@Marlys0 I woudl change your password and then contact AirBNB to get the listing edited.  Might be part of a bigger issues with editing  that have been seen by other hosts.
