I just recently had guest this past weekend and I stop by my house to grab a few things for work the next day. I walked in and realized it was cold in my house. I looked at the thermostat and it was set to 70 down stairs as well as upstairs, mind you I live in Vegas and no one was in the house at the time. I had sent my guest a message stating to please turn the ac back up to 80 when they leave the house for the day, I stopped by again and it was still at 70. What is the proper etiquette for guest touching the thermostat. Is it just common courtesy not to touch it? Do i enforce it with the next guest?
@Melissa312 Put it into your rules not to change the settings, put a big sticker on the control panel. Make it idiot-proof. And still you will not avoid guests doing otherwise. 😉
I just posted this in another thread but purchase a Nest thermostat. You can program it from an app on your phone and you can lock it so that guests cannot change it.
