Looking to connect with trans hosts

Hi! Looking for other trans/non binary hosts, just to talk about experiences, issues with guests etc. It would be lovely to connect with people! I see that there’s discussion posts on lgbt issues but they mainly seem to be posted and commented on by heterosexual and cisgender hosts. 

I just starting hosting my place sometimes while I’m away. I am trans and open about it. I have a fairly kitshy/camp place, with art that has a queer theme. 

Since I started hosting the lowest reviews I have got have been from a guests who have a common theme in the backgrounds/identities - namely older men. Their reviews have never been openly transphobic but there’s comments or irrelevant nitpicking that makes me wonder if it’s connected to that. I know this is subjective, but I co hosted for my partner for a long time so I have some experience with reading between the lines with feedback. 

I want people who are going to enjoy my space - it’s my home, not a business so I don’t plan to make it more “neutral” for the comfort of people who are not supportive of lgbtqi+ rights! I wonder if there are techniques for filtering out people or promoting your space to those who are genuinely accepting. I’ve put lgbt+ friendly, but perhaps there’s something I’ve not thought of!

hello rhys, glad to read you! i cannot talk of my experience so far as i'm totally new here, thinking of renting my little appartment now and then, and quite terified. i'm non-binary trans, just wanted to say hello mainly, and yes, i've similar concerns (although i haven't really started yet). i was thinking, maybe the text i write about myself here will be a kind of "filter" too (?)...

hey rhys and lando.  not sure either one of you will see this message.

i have been doing airbnb for a few years in olympia, wa.

recently i have been having a hard time with airbnb ignoring my request to have reviews amended that use the wrong pronoun to signify me.  i am a female bodied gender queer person who uses he/him pronouns.  in the past airbnb changed the pronoun to reflect he.  later they said they could only change the review to omit pronouns which was a bummer.  now they are ignoring me.  

i am upfront with guests about my gender identity and most everyone is super chill.  sadly, my last two guests have not been rad.  i am likely leaving the airbnb community due to airbnbs inablity to support trans folks, and me feeling scetched out by my last 2 guests.  it sucks.

until recently, especially living in olympia, i have had a lot fo fun doing airbnb meeting cool people.  i will say very few of my guests have been queer tho.  and not once has another gender queer or trans person booked.  i wonder if there is another platform for queers to guest.  if either of you ever come to olympia, hit me up if i am still here!  and if i ever make it back to berlin, or to glasgow, i will hit you up!!!!

If you use the @ symbol, a drop-down appears witht he names of the people you're responding to they'll be notified of your response.

There is an LGBTQ platform called Mister B&B, which, one would hope, would be more supportive of your pronouns. Presumably guests would also be more liable to use the correct ones, and not give rise to needing an edit.

sorry to hear about your not-so-good experiences 😞   tbh i still haven't made it to insert the ad for my appartment ^^(not easy when juggling  several freelance jobs and caretaking of a kid ..)

i heard of another platform called ebab.com (enjoy bed & breakfast), which sound to me more gay gay as queer if you know what i mean 😉 but anyways..
