Losing draft responses

I keep losing my responses to guest queries as I am writing them. Sometimes I am in the middle of a response, and quickly check  something elsewhere on my site by using the back arrow, only to find my response isn't there any more when I return! This time, I had finished a long response, and was signing off with a tilde (under the escape key)  in front of my name and accidentally hit the escape key, gone again! A number of ways to lose your draft response. I have taken to doing it in text edit before committing to airbnb, but checking here to see if I am missing something! Thanks!
