I came across this gem of a rule in another listing. The rest of the rules were pretty specific and would scare me away, but this one made me spit out my drink.....

- PLEASE, no Love-Ins!! This is a private residence, not a hotel room. If you do have intimate relations, please protect the linens with towels. Thank you!

I wonder if it's followed?! And did something specific happen for her to decide to include this rule?! So curious!
@Suzanne302Wow, that's... awkward.
What separates a "love-in" from intimate relations? Length of activities? Number of participants? Volume?
@Alexandra316 LOL! I know!
I wonder if she had a really bad "clean up" experience, or if this is just a precaution. So many questions!
@Suzanne302I would be so, so tempted to ask for the story...
We had a person in our small town who was renting an apartment in their home (not on Airbnb, just looking for a regular tenant). They specified that any tenant was not allowed to use any wireless device: no Wifi, no cellphone, no radio signals, etc. 1) how would they know the tenant was in compliance, and 2) do they actually take precautions to prevent it (like is their entire house a Farraday cage)? Sometimes it's just so temping to ask these questions, even when you know you shouldn't. I do sometimes enjoy poking the bear... Maybe I should have messaged and asked if he'd thought about becoming a host rather than looking for a conventional tenant. That would have been exciting.
I just think that some people aren't suited to hosting if they can't tolerate normal, everyday activities that one might engage in on holidays. But I still wanna hear that story :-).
Haha. Imagine the host walking in to clean the bedroom and every single towel is spread out across the bed.
@Emilia42 I imagine a guest walking out with a towel, "Um, excuse me? We're about to have intimate relations and I just wanted to make sure these are the towels you want us to use on the bed?"
@Suzanne302 You know those black washcloths with "Makeup" embroidered on them? Maybe there's towels available with "Sex Juice" embroidered on them.
@Suzanne302 Reminds me of another host who recently posted on here with a similar "issue".....I think someone should create an Airbnb page for Christians only... 😉
So far I've been an active host for a year or so and I have already had 3 requests from guests only wanting to "rest" for a couple of hours...
They actually asked for an hourly rate. I might need to add the "no love-ins" rule 🙂
Great laugh. Thanks guys 😉
