Hello, I'm a host on Airbnb. I've had "Bank transfer in local currency" payout method for years now. I've been getting funds to my local bank account in 3-5 days in local currency (HRK). Till recently it worked perfectly but since July I've been receiving much less in local currency than sent in EUR. On transaction history page, I can see for example, 50 EUR is paid in 327 HRK (Croatian Kuna). This suggests the fee is around 12%!!! My question is, which underlying service is being used and how can I find who is charging this huge fee? This is not international wire transfer, I suppose it is SEPA. When I put this method years ago, I remember I had to register with Payoneer. But I'm not sure how is Payoneer involved in this service, I don't have Payoneer's Credit/Debit card. How does Airbnb know exact amount I'm getting to my local account? I know airbnb isn't charging this fee and neither is my Bank, I've checked. In the meantime I changed to method "Bank transfer in EUR" and now I'm getting the exact amount sent from Airbnb. I wish Airbnb would explain each payout method in detail so we hosts know which method is best for us.
Thanks and regards,
Marina
