We rented to a couple for a week and the guy is now using our address for his mail. These are state legal documents he is receiving here. Has anyone experienced this before and if so, how did you handle it? They checked out on New Years Eve and we continue to get the mail. I've been leaving it in the mailbox for him to get as they are still in the area. However, I do not feel it's my responsibility to continue to hold his mail. Suggestions?
@Michelle1371I would take them to the post office and have them returned to sender, stating that the person is not at your address. What your guest is doing is not ethical, and is likely using your address to establish residency in your state for some reason. I would not be passing the mail on to them.
Thank you for the reply. No I have not reached out to them as I'm not on Twitter. I have asked three times (the number of times we have been able to reach him) to not have stuff sent here. He keeps telling me is changing his address. He is relocating to this area so he will have a local address. With that being said, I will be taking the mail to the post office today.
