Reservations opening up that I do not open - airbnb glitch

The airbnb system has a glitch in it and opens up reservations that I do not want opened up. It happens constantly and usually two months or more ahead of the current date.

Twice this has resulted in a reservation from a customer that I did not want.  I constantly update my openings and every day I have to look ahead and block out dates that the airnb system opens up.

For example, yesterday I changed the prices for November and December.  I only keep two full months open ahead of time, plus the current month.  When I looked at January, the 12th-15th had opened up on its own after I had blocked it the day before.  Today the 16th opened up too.

Finally, I find it impossible to actually talk to someone at airbnb to discuss this.  Is there a phone number or a chat so I can talk to a real person to solve this?

Many thanks for any help.

Hi Gregory

This sounds as though it is a similar problem to what is happening to me as described here:

It is really annoying and makes us look inefficient when we are not.

I still haven't found out how to contact them by email. All hosts should have access to this easily.

While you can't email Airbnb you can use Twitter or call. This is basically the only thing I use Twitter for and it works great and if my question can't be easily Kt resolved I typically get a call back from someone at Airbnb.

A trick suggested by others is to jack up pricing for the blocked/future dates to something rediculoulsy high.

I have a similar problem. In my case, I think it's just that the system assumes dates to be available at the end of your calendar when that date goes from "too far away" to "within your booking window"

i very much much wish airbnb would add a "sleep listing" feature like Turo did... most of my dates will open at some point, but not until I get enough info from my work...
