Why do reservations show up on my reservation list as cancelled when they never requested to book nor sent an inquiry? How can a reservation be cancelled when I never accepted it thus it never existed? Help!

This can happen sometimes when they contact Airbnb and cancel soon after they made the booking and before it gets sent on to you. 

I have had a few.

I have had a few as well.  I imagined it happened during the verification process, but maybe I am wrong.
