Resolution Center Payment

Hi, I recently hosted a guest that wanted a full refund, then decided to stay. Since her complaints were various and I knew that I was dealing with a complicated person, I offered her a $50 refund for any inconvenience. Now, she's negotiating a $200 refund. Is it possible to cancel my offer of $50 refund? I'm so fed up with this person. She keeps coming with more and more reasons to complain. All my other guests have been happy and no fuss.

Thanks,

M

Hi Melba!

That is so incredibly frustrating.  I would not try to get the $50 back- you offered it so leave it be.  Trying to claw it back only gives her more fuel for her review and looks a bit bad for you.  Just draw the line now and no further negotiating.  She may leave a negative review, but then you simply respond to it in a professional way indicating you gave her a $50 refund and all the other nonsense.

Some people are out to get something for free. The way i deal with negotiations is once its agreed - its done. If she accepted your $50 refund and then came back to the table and tried to get more, the $50 is also back on the table and yours to take back. She started renegotiations. She reneged - not you. So you now say I'm offering you zero. You already know you'll get a crappy review so theres no sense in losing money on top of it.
