SCAM/FRAUD POSSIBILITY.

Hello everyone. I have just had a polite request for a booking. I have been a host for just under a year and am a sperhost at the moment - hooray! This lady said she was keen to book but confused because she saw the same property and photographs as mine but with a different host name and cheaper! She said it was at: www1.airbnb.rooms-14788.property but when I googled this it just took me to the main Airbnb Official site. Do you think SHE'S telling a fib and just trying to get a cheaper rate? (I charge £40 a night which I think is fair and the same as similar properties in my area) Or do you think there's some fraulent other website pretending to be Airbnb? Has anyone else had this problem? Many thanks!

This is a well-known scam and the person inquiring is lying.  Don't click the link!

Oh NOOOO! I have said she could stay now - how do I get out of it? She hasn't officially booked yet can I just send her a message saying I've changed my mind? Thank you SO much for your quick response!

@Abigail3 The link was not of the Airbnb website , it just look like it is but it is not. Abb site has a green padlock on the begining of the address. If you entered your email and password on that fake website then scammers now have it and can mess with your account number, email address, change your password etc..

Go on real Airbnb website ASAP and change your password , check your account number, email , phone and other data

Never login on Airbnb if there is no green padlock before website address!
