I know I've seen it somewhere before on the airbnb site but I can't find it now. Has anyone out there used a safe deposit box outside their property for their front door key for when guests arrive and they can't be there to let them in? I gather it works with a code that you can give to guests, but I'm not sure where to put such a thing so it isn't obviously a safe deposit box that someone could break into or remove. Any advice on this would be appreciated, thanks.
Hi, @Patsy9. My own listing doesn't need anything like that, but I stayed with a great host here in Canada who used a lock box for the key. It is a secure box attached to the top of the door. Do a search for "key lock box" rather than "safe deposit box" when you are looking. Hope that helps you narrow it down.
Get a Schlange Camelot key pad lock. Its very simple with few moving parts but very secure. 9v battery lasts a year can add or delete numbers as guests come and go.
