Can the *Request Money* feature be used to collect a *real* Security Deposit from a guest? The Security Deposit that is set on on a host's Airbnb listing is really not charged to the guest unless there is a damage claim by the host. Guests know this and I have heard that collecting money from Airbnb for a claim is near to impossible. Thoughts?

Nope, @Dotty2 and @Renee121, you can't collect any deposit under Airbnb rules. It's a shame that hosts are not really protected against damage by guests.

Easier soulution would be to charge high cleaning fee and say you will return it after check out inspection by using "return money" feature.

I am late to this party but can guarantee you that Airbnb does not cover cost for damages.
