Hi,
I am working on these dreaded taxes and am a bit confused by the forums. I am a host in Texas, and made about 6k hosting. I noticed that Air BnB only sends out tax forms for those who made over 20k. So am I required to report my earnings? If so, what form would it be? 1099-MISC?
Thanks!
Adam
Hi Adam! I have the same question. So just add the earned income from Airbnb under rental property?
First, you absolutely still need to report your earnings as income regardless of receiving a 1099 from Airbnb. You will use the information from your Transaction History to fill in your income. This informtaion from E&Y may help with your taxes: http://assets.airbnb.com/eyguidance/us.pdf
