Hi fellow hosts, at about 0330 this morning we found that the top level "host" key was locking up the platform here in the UK. It was not affecting the mobile APP. We informed AIRBNB at 0730 and identified a workround which would bypass the top level key and enable hosts to use the pages for reservations etc. The workround is as follows: Log in then use the quick links to manage lisitings, this will bypass the top level host key and you should be able to function. Hope BNB sort this out soon as it has wasted lots of our time.
Regards Shaun.
Its now 1730 UK time and we are still having the same problem with the top level host key. We have been using a workround since 0900 and are begining to have a sense of humour failure!!! Is it only my systems that are experiencing this issue or are there other hosts out there who are seeing the same thing? We got our IT guy in who checked everything and tells me it is a software change issue but BNB are not saying anything at present!!!
Regards Shaun
Everythings working over here @Shaun69
Although I have no idea what a top level host key is
@Jeff158 Thanks for that reply Jeff, the top level key is the one you press after you login to go to the hosting functions.
Well in that case its working fine @Shaun69 although it was very slow to respond a couple of days ago.
Have you seen this post, sounds like the same thing

@Jeff158 Thank you so much, you are spot on this is clearly a Safari problem caused by a code change by AIRBNB. I just wish BNB would be honest and tell hosts what is going on!!!!!
Mine is working, too, @Shaun69 , so I hate to say maybe it is just you, but, um, maybe it is just you?
You rebooted, right? Of course you did. Just checking.
I do find every once in awhile something goes down with the app or the site and I need to do a workaround, whether it is changing browsers or devices or clicking this rather than that. Usually happens at the most inconvenient moments - on the road, for instance, where the workaround and all the trying eats up data. Must have been very frustrating in the wee hours when you just wanted to get back to sleep.
Thanks for posting about it.
Thanks to @Jeff158 I have now identified that this is a Safari problem caused by a code change by AIRBNB. Jeff I would like to thank you for you wisdom and to AIRBNB i can only say you have let me down seriously and you should be ashamed!!!!!!
Regards Shaun
Hi Folks, I can honestly say that you have got to try rely hard to wind me up but the AIRBNB help centre today has been a complete waste of time. They must have known that a code change had affected the Safari browser on Mack's but instead of informing hosts have allowed people like me to call in IT support to try to identify problems that have been caused by a code change!!! Why not be honest and tell hosts what is going on so we do not waste time and money on trying to resolve issues that are beyond our control !!!! Please AIRBNB change your policy of keeping hosts in the dark when you carry out code changes, it will prevent sleepless nights !!!!!!!!
@Shaun69 I was experiencing the same a couple of days ago, but it righted itself fairly quicky. And I work in Chrome, not Safari, so that it was specifically related to a code change for Safari is not necessarily the case. Although i know when they make changes to one part of the platform it invariably seems to glitch out other things.
