#Utrecht, #Netherlands Airbnb Hosts

Hi Everyone,

In the old 'Groups' I was organizer of the Utrecht Host. I hereby start this conversation for all the hosts from that group and/ or in Utrecht who want to share information with each other about hosting in and around Utrecht. Not sure how this community will work but hopefully we still will be able to share information and experiences.

About myself.

I host for a couple of years now, first my appartment entirely but recently I have moved to a house with my boyfriend and we now rent out a room in our house which is complety self sufficient for our guest. We like to welcome people from all over the world and give them a nice place to sleep while exploring the beautifull city of Utrecht.

Kind regards, Wendy

Welcome to the Community Center @Wendy-and-Bart0. Just to introduce myself, my name is Lizzie and I am here to help with the English speaking Community Center here. It is great to see you are moving your group over to the CC and have posted this here.

I thought you might find it useful to provide you with a few tips about the new CC:

- Feel free to add photos using the little camera icon in your post tool bar

- I have added hashtags on to your title so that it will be easier to search in the long term (I hope this is fine with you)

- If anyone wants to find topics linked with Utrecht/Netherlands or just specifically this thread they can search using these words in the search bar (found at the top of every CC page).

- You can also provide the direct URL for this thread to your existing members so they know it has been set up this thread

- Another little tip is if you press the options menu ('...' button) next to the reply button in a specific post there is an option called 'Highlight'. 'Highlight', once clicked reloads the page and changes the URL in your browser search bar and is specific for that post. This might not be needed that ofter, but useful to know I think. 🙂

At any point please do let me know if you have any questions or want to provide any feedback by tagging me @Lizzie and I will be notified. (@name of someone in the thread can also be useful to make sure they receive a notify if you or someone else replies).

It is lovely to meet you and I hope this is helpful. Thanks so much. 🙂

hallo,

Hi Zoe

Sorry for my late respons. This community is not really working.

A hosting party in Utrecht started a facebook page to gather hosts in Utrecht because of changing rules in the Airbnb market.

hi Wendy,

I started hosting in Utrecht, Leidsche Rijn area from last 3 weeks and getting good response. But I have not informed Gemeente Utrecht yet about the same. Wanted to know about that the following:

> Is it necessary/mandatory  to inform gemeente if we are hosting

> how to deal with tax implications?

In ABB help guide, there is not proper rules defined for Utrecht and it's mostly only for Amsterdam.

I don't want to get into trouble later on that I am getting a letter from Gemeente or belastingdienst with huge amount of fine imposed. So, want to be safe rather than sorry. Since you are hosting from long period, it would be great if u can share ur experience and processes which you take care while hosting and yet be legally safe. thanks in advance.

Hi Jainendra,

Yes, it is mandatory to inform the Gemeente (BghU) about your hosting because you have to pay tourist (6%) tax per night.

With this link you find all the regulations in Utrecht: https://www.bnbserviceutrecht.nl/airbnb-regelgeving-utrecht/

Good luck and welcome to the Utrecht Airbnb community.
