OK, @Pete28 and all of you lurkers (58 views and only @Jessica-and-Henry0 had the guts to BARELY respond???), if people didn't have sex, YOU wouldn't BE HERE, right?  None of us would.  We should be grateful for sex.... and it can be a bit 'messy.'  There's the 'rub' (forgive the pun!)

THAT SAID,

If your guests are sharing your house, you may have something in your house rules... something like a curfew?  Lights out and quiet time after 10pm?  Make the house rules and your personal presence enough to discourage 'inappropriate' behavior?

Keep in mind that most guests (couples) will have a bit of 'vacation-brain' going on.  Not their place, right?  Let go a bit?  The kids aren't around... and they've rented the space--to whatever degree you've stipulated, in writing, or otherwise.

If your guests have the place all to themselves, this is a completely different scene, and one you have absolutely no control over.

My listing is a single occupancy private room and I don't allow guests of the guest so...... the sex stuff is a bit of a non-issue for me 🙂

very interesting conversation indeed. well, I rent to groups - mostly - and i dont think that people who come as a family will engage in that much "activity" especially when they bring granma and small kids. but yes, I had people sealing from me, food, towels and toiletries. with the ac/heat it's easy... After the first bill I installed new intelligent units that I can monitor from my phone. it also can 'sense" when nobody is at home (no air movement) and enters in "away" mode where the owner sets the temperatures. This intelligent termostat work with older equipament so this is a wonderful way to be on top of your expenses. I highly recommend any guestsout there to buy a nest thermostat.

We have had some couples whom we heard having sex...

Why not.

Our staircase might make some noise so the moment i heard them gaving sex i decided not to leave my room and go down the stairs. I waited a while until they where done and then another 5 minutes to not make it to obvious for them that i heard them.

On the other hand....we are on site so it also affects our sex life since actually our bed might squick a bit and we dont want our guests to be affected by that.
