I had a double booking circumstance & I've had to cancel one of them, airbnb has already charged her credit card, now that I've cancelled the booking will this return the funds to her credit card without myself having to do anything more?
Yes the guest gets refunded by Airbnb immediately. Actually, they get a credit on their account which they can apply to a new booking or they can request a refund.
Great, thank you for that I wasn't sure as I am new to managing the property for the owner. Yes it was outside of airbnb but I had the dates blocked but because she had been pre-approved a few weeks ago, I was unaware that you still could make payment for those dates that are blocked. The other person had confirmed & made payment first, so therefor I had to cancel the second booking.
If you blocked the dates through the Airbnb system, the guest who you pre-approved should have been able to book as it would show "not possible". Also, this might be something I would check with Airbnb about as pre-approvals are only suppose to last 24 hours and not a "few weeks". If you did actually block the dates, I would challenge it and have them remove the penalties.
