guest cancels

I have a confirmed reservation where the guest informed me that they must cancel for health reasons. I'm fine with them cancelling, but I don't know the process they must follow. I tried searching the forum but did not see an appropriate thread. I tried canceling as the host, but Airbnb listed all the bad things that would happen to me as a host if I did the cancelation from my end as the host, so I did not proceed further with that approach.

 

Summary: What must a guest do to cancel an upcoming reservation?

Good thing you thought better than to cancel - never cancel a confirmed reservation. Let the guest cancel themselves and they can easily call Airbnb to do this. You could call Airbnb yourself and give them a heads up and let them know you are okay with them canceling based on your cancelation policy only.

If your guests are able to locate their booking, they should also be able to find the link to cancel or alter their reservation.
