minimum stays

Generally I have a 2 night minimum stay.  What happens if you are left with single nights here and there - how can you sell these on AirBnB for one night only without altering everything else.  Also, out of season I want to have a 3 night minimum stay.  Is there a flexible option for this please, I can't see one?

I have found if it is a shared space, the greater the minimum stay, the lower the occupancy. I note, since I also mange a full rental space for a friend, minimum stays of 3-4 days do not seem to deter from occupancy, at least in this area.

@Joy18 When you end up with isolated single nights, there are a couple of things you can do. First, I message both surrounding guests and offer them a really cheap rate ($20-25 discount) for the isolated day, in case they want to extend their stay. That gets accepted about 15-20% of the time. If they both decline, I set a 1-night minimum for that specific date. When I do that, I usually RAISE the rate by $10-20, because I really don't enjoy cleaning two days in a row. If somone wants the night enough to pay a premium, though, I'll do it. That latter tactic actually rarely yields any add'l booking. We tend to stay booked up 95% of the time, so the occasional day off is kind of nice.

Thank you Dede for that advice - I shall try it.  You mention adjusting that odd night to a one night stay - I have searched the site thoroughly many times and can't see how to do that.  Can you enlighten me please.  I know about adjusting your minimum stays generally, but as far as I can see you can adjust a period ahead, adjust generally, but  not the odd night.  Please help!  Thanks

Hi - Joy here - I have sussed it, at last - I can't believe it - how to list a date as one night although minimum stays are 2+.

Enter dates between ... and ...

Select one minimum night

I found the answer in Community.  All I now hope is that is shows in live availability on the AirBnB website.
