I have received eight messages in the space of half an hour at 6am this morning via the airbnb platform. Some relate to previous bookings as far back as 2015. Some dont relate to my bookings at all. Something is going badly wrong at Airbnb. Can this be stopped.?? Prev guests are now writing to me asking me why i have written to them, but i havent! Clearly the messages are somehow being generated from airbnb HQ. Its causing a lot of work and confusion. Please sort it out airbnb!!!

I had a similar problem happen to me not too long ago! Fist question, did you recently change your phone number? If so, make sure all your Airbnb and social media contact info is up to date and call Airbnb right away to let them know what you think is happening. Just so they have a record on file.
Otherwise, this is one of those cases where you should contact Airbnb ASAP!

Have sent a message to Airbnb support from the App's Contact Us menu. Maybe you should do the same?

I haven't changed my phone number.... very curious. I reported this as feedback .
I had 10 messages this morning from Airbnb say unknown command and then from a guest in 2015 I was panicking because it said see you this Friday I thought I haven't got you booked in and then I saw the date yes I feel like I've been hacked
Same here I received circa 30 outdated emails in a block last week. I just delete them and did not wasted anymore energy on it, as we all know Airbnb software is the best software in the known universe, did you also know the NSA (National Security Agency) can get hacked, but according to Airbnb acolytes, Airbnb is immune to it.
I'm aware of the expression "Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit".

Presume hacking system has been hacked (same happened to me this morning). Surprised no public response from Airbnb on Community yet!
Hi Gillian. I have exactly the same issue! So, there appears to be a system bug! I have messaged Airbnb this morning and hope to get an explanation.
All the hosts who are experiencing similar problems and posting it here seem to be in the UK, one from Poland. It must be a glitch in the system.
Has anyone contacted Airbnb? Any updates?

Happened to me too! Very annoying!
Happened to me too. Five messages between 5:00 and 6:00am today but some telling guests that the dates they had booked were unavailable! Spoke to someone from Airbnb this morning but was cut off - failed to reconnect. Have sent message.
The same thing happened to me 3 days ago. I wrote to the guest in question and asked if he had send me these messages by mistake, but he said not. He (the guest) then wrote to Airbnb to report this activety. Well, guess what ? I just received an e-mail from 'Trip Experience Case Manage at Airbnb, appologising fot the inconvenience and they gave me a Travel Coupon towards my next Airbnb booking. How nice was that!

Happened to me too. Received 2 messages stating guests are at the apartment lobby for check in. I was panicky. Later realised that they are the same last messages sent to me 2 years ago. Wrote to the guest to ask if she sent them by mistake but have not received any answer yet. And since then I have of received any inquiry too. I don't know if that's related. Just reported to Airbnb and hope this will get sorted soon.
