Hello!
Has anyone experience their renters accidentally cancelling their booking part way through the stay? My renter is supposed to be at our place for a couple more weeks but they accidentally cancelled the booking. How do I handle this? I can’t find a way to contact air bnb themselves. I’m new to hosting, so any advice is very much appreciated!
Thanks!
Hi @Laura8446
I would go to the Help Center and select the specific booking. Explain to Support what happened and ask them to please contact the guest and help them to re-instate the booking.
Hope it helps. In my experience Support is very good at handling this type of issue where the guest and host are in agreement and there's a reservation-related issue that needs to be sorted out.
Hi @Laura8446,
Have you managed to get in touch with Support now, following Shelley's advice?
It would be great to know if you and your guest have found a way to resolve this, or if you need any more help at all. 🙂
Thanks,
Emilie

It's almost impossible to cancel a stay "accidentally".
Was the guest trying to modify the reservation (change the dates or shorten the stay)?
They said they were looking for another place to stay because they're in the area for work and accidentally cancelled it while looking for another booking. Support did help, but it's my first booking and now I'm realizing they're getting refunded for the entire stay rather than just the portion they hadn't used yet. I'm going to try to get in touch with support to see if they're able to help.
