Airbnb Listing Unsafe Houses and Not Protecting the Customer Renting

We rented a house on Airbnb Sept 3rd-6th in Hartwell, GA.  The listing looked like a nice country home.  When we arrived at the home and entered the Overbearing smell of Mildew and Must hit us like a ton of bricks.  At first we thought the home was closed up for a long period of time, so we tried to open the windows only to find them either glued or nailed closed.  No screen doors, so couldn't get air in the home that way either.   We opened the fans while inspecting the home only to find the towels and linens damp and smelling of mildew.  We didn't feel comfortable even sitting on the furniture because of the horrible smell.  Within the hour we contacted Airbnb to cancel the reservation and wrote our issues with the home.  Our feedback was the same as another feedback given to another customer in Feb. 2023 who wrote Airbnb about their issues with their unsafe home.  The feedback emailed to us was Airbnb tried to contact us with no answer and wanted pictures.  How do you take pictures of a Horrible Smell?  As for the windows, maybe Airbnb should ask the owner to send pictures of them opening the windows, or maybe removing the glue or nails first.

Airbnb should check with Georgia safety codes, because renting a home with windows that can't be opened is a Violation! Not to mention the unsafe mildew lingering in the home.

We paid good money to stay in this home for 3 days and then had the expense to pay for a safe place to stay.  Both the owner and Airbnb is refusing to refund the money paid in full. We did not stay in that house because it is UNSAFE!  Giving us $50 back isn't acceptable! Airbnb should protect the customers that put their trust in your company to provide safe  accomodations and this is clearly not happening.   Both Airbnb and the Owners of ** should feel ashamed and disgraced for misleading customers .  Pictures of rooms don't show the real hazards of a home and this place is definately a Hazard!  Airbnb please do the right thing, take this home off your website quickly and Refund our money.  Your company has a good reputation, don't ruin it over this place.

@Paul9972 Have you left a review for the stay? Generally it seems Airbnb sides with guests over hosts. Was this a company hosting this particular property?
