I can only tell you what our policy is, and it is based on both our business insurance coverage and our local STR ordinance.
No one is allowed to visit the registered guests. Not to hang out for the day, or to use the amenities, such as our pond, hiking trails, etc. If they are injured they are not covered, and if they accidentally break something or start a fire, that is another legal issue. They are also not signed on to the house and property rules either, which the registered guests are agreeing to honor. If the guest has local friends, they go meet them at their place, or in a public establishment.
Best wishes and best of luck. Do let us know what you decide.
@Catherine3856 I totally agree with @Kitty-and-Creek0. No one but the registered guest is allowed on my property, not even the guy delivering the pizza. If the friends slip, fall and break a leg, you are responsible! Take care!
I agree with the others. Unless the guests are on the reservation, and they sign a liability waiver for the pool, I would decline. It is usually a requirement for STR insurnace and Airbnb’s Aircover to have all the names of the guests on the reservation for coverage. I have read some posts here that Aircover denied claims because all guests were not listed on the reservation by name.
My rule is no visitors, only guests included in the booking. In my case it is not related to safety/insurance - I simply don’t want more people on my property.
Hello @Catherine3856!
